Prague Big Weekend

The Prague Big Weekend is three nights in a four-star central hotel with return airport transfers, a session at an indoor shooting range, a private boat on the river, a booked group dinner and reserved club entry. It suits a group that wants three full days in what remains the best value big weekend in Europe.

The shooting range comes first, supervised and strictly sober, so it sits well before any drinking. The second day is the private boat on the river, with the group on its own. A booked group dinner follows on the third day, and reserved club entry closes the weekend.

Prague's old town is compact, so the bars, the hotel and the restaurants are all on foot. The bars are close together, and the clubs run several floors and stay open until it is light. Watch the bill in the tourist-trap bars around the main square. Food, drinks and anything the group adds on the night are paid locally. Flights are not included.

Your weekend, day by day

  1. Day 1

    Gun range shooting in Prague

    Gun range shooting

    From about 15:00 · 2 hours

Arrival day. The transfer brings the group in from the airport, roughly half an hour by road, then the shooting-range session in the afternoon, with an instructor alongside. Everyone must be sober and carry a passport or a clear photo of it.

    More about this

Prague's ranges sit outside the city, typically 30 to 60 minutes from the centre by road, and most are outdoor sites. Allow two to four hours door to door once the transfer is counted. Packages are sold by rounds and weapons, from about 20 shots each on a single rifle up to 60 or more across five or six guns. Every shooter must be 18 or over, sober, and carrying a passport or at least a clear photo of it on their phone. The drink comes afterwards. Groups of more than 16 are usually split across two time slots, so give it a morning rather than squeezing it in.

A range officer covers safety and handling, then you shoot a set number of rounds across a few different weapons at paper targets. An instructor stays with each shooter on the lane. Targets are usually yours to keep.

Ranges are strict and the rules are not flexible: sober, identification checked at the door, and anyone who does not follow an instruction is removed. That is what makes it safe.

Closed-toe shoes and a top with a high neckline, because spent casings are hot. Eye and ear protection are provided.

  2. Day 2

Boat party & cruise in Prague

    Boat party & cruise

    From about 13:00 · 1.5 hours

A slow morning, then the private boat on the river with the group on its own. Be at the meeting point on time, wear trainers or deck shoes, and bring a layer: it is colder on the water than on land.

    More about this

There are three Prague formats on the Vltava. Beer boats are pedal-powered with a captain, seat 11 or 12, run for 90 minutes in daytime slots, and refuse anyone who arrives under the influence. Private cruises last about 55 minutes with beer and wine on board, leave on the hour from near Mánes Bridge, ask you to arrive 30 minutes early and sometimes take a returnable deposit. The big public party boat is the late option, with two decks and a DJ, boarding around 10:30pm. Bring ID for all three, and expect larger groups to be split across boats.

You board at a fixed time and the boat runs a set loop, so latecomers are left on the dock. Onboard there is a bar and usually a DJ or a sound system you can plug into. Some are private charters for your group alone, others are shared with other bookings.

What is included varies more here than anywhere else: some are entry only, some include a drinks package, some include food. Get that in writing before you pay.

Deck shoes or trainers, nothing with a heel. It is colder on the water than on land, even in summer, so bring a layer.

  3. Day 3

Group dinner & restaurant in Prague

    Group dinner & restaurant

    From about 19:30 · 2 hours

The booked group dinner, with one table for the whole group. Confirm final numbers and any dietary needs with the restaurant ahead of the day. If the group is heading out afterwards, dress for the bars rather than the restaurant.

    More about this

Prague group dinners lean traditional. The standard is a two- or three-course Czech set menu, usually soup followed by a hearty main, with a couple of beers each and the table held for two hours. The medieval banquet is the theatrical option: three courses, drinks included, live music and performers, at a fixed early start of about 4:30pm and running roughly three hours, which leaves the whole night free. A Brazilian grill with meat carved from skewers suits a hungry group. Guides usually walk the group from Wenceslas Square. Send dietary needs ahead, because these are set menus.

A restaurant taking a large group will usually want a set menu, a deposit and final numbers a few days ahead. That is normal and it works in your favour: the food comes out together and the bill is per head rather than an hour of arithmetic.

Tell them about allergies and anyone who does not eat meat when you confirm the numbers, not on the night.

Dress code is the restaurant's. If you are heading to a club afterwards, dress for the club, because the restaurant is the softer door.

  4. Day 4

Club entry, VIP & booths in Prague

    Club entry, VIP & booths

    From about 23:30 · 4 hours

Reserved club entry for the group, past the queue on the guest list. Prague's clubs run several floors and stay open until it is light. Dress codes are enforced on stag groups: no sportswear and no matching shirts.

    More about this

Prague's clubs start late, so entry slots are generally from 11pm, with a guide meeting the group near Charles Bridge, taking you in past the queue and staying for the first hour. The best-known venue is a five-floor complex by the river, and the others used for groups are within about a 30-minute walk of the centre. Every door checks ID and expects smart casual. VIP packages add a reserved table and either a bar allowance per person or a bottle of spirits shared between about four. Book the VIP table for the main night and plain entry for the others.

Standard entry gets the group past the queue on a guest list, which matters because large male groups are the first ones a door turns away. A booth adds a reserved table, a set number of bottles with mixers and a host who looks after the table.

Booths are sold on a minimum spend rather than a flat fee at many clubs, so the bottles you order count towards it. Ask what the minimum is and what it includes before you agree to anything.

Dress code is enforced hard on stag groups. No sportswear, no trainers at some doors, no matching shirts, and nobody visibly drunk gets in regardless of the booking.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is Prague good for a first-time stag organiser?

Yes. The package handles the planning — accommodation, activities and the nights out — so an organiser without stag experience isn't working it out from scratch.

Can we add extra nights in Prague?

Tell us what the group has in mind when you enquire and we'll say what's possible for that city and those dates.

What's not included in the Prague price?

Whatever isn't listed under a trip's "what's included" — flights, extra drinks, transport beyond what's stated and personal spending are on the group.
