Barcelona Classic

The Barcelona Classic is two nights in a three-star hotel near the centre, with a boat trip along the coast, a second daytime activity and reserved entry to a beachfront club. Return transfers from El Prat are arranged both ways.

The boat trip comes first, taking the group along the coast with a bar on board. The second activity is the group's choice: a food tour that walks a set route of tastings, or an afternoon of reserved beds at a beach party. The night out ends at a beachfront club with entry already reserved, so the door is not a gamble.

Barcelona gives a group the sand and a late nightlife in the same city. Dinner starts late, the bars come after, and the clubs run from about one in the morning. Dress codes are real at the top end, so pack something beyond sportswear. Food, drinks and anything the group adds on the night are paid locally. Flights are not included.

Your weekend, day by day

  1. Day 1

Boat party & cruise in Barcelona

    Boat party & cruise

    From about 13:00 · 2.5 hours

Arrival day. The transfer brings the group from El Prat to the accommodation, then the boat trip along the coast. Boarding is at a fixed time and latecomers are left on the dock, so leave a margin. Trainers or deck shoes and a layer for the water.

    More about this

Barcelona's boats are on the Mediterranean, mostly leaving from the Port Olímpic area, and the season runs roughly March to October. The public party boat lasts two hours with a DJ and drink vouchers; check-in closes 30 minutes before departure, and the on-board bar is cash only. The catamaran barbecue cruise lasts three hours with a swim stop and is shared with up to 80 people. For privacy, a 14-metre catamaran takes up to 28 with a skipper, and smaller sailing boats take 8 to 11, sometimes with a deposit on boarding. Bring swimwear, a towel, sun cream and ID.

You board at a fixed time and the boat runs a set loop, so latecomers are left on the dock. Onboard there is a bar and usually a DJ or a sound system you can plug into. Some are private charters for your group alone, others are shared with other bookings.

What is included varies more here than anywhere else: some are entry only, some include a drinks package, some include food. Get that in writing before you pay.

Deck shoes or trainers, nothing with a heel. It is colder on the water than on land, even in summer, so bring a layer.

Food tour & cooking class in Barcelona

    Food tour & cooking class

    From about 18:00 · 3 hours

If the group picks the food tour, it follows the boat: a guided walk through four or five tasting stops over a couple of hours. It replaces dinner rather than adding to it. Send dietary needs ahead and wear comfortable shoes.

    More about this

Barcelona's food tours meet just off Las Ramblas and work through the Old Town, about three hours across several tapas bars with wine, sangria, vermouth and cava along the way. There is a lunchtime start around 1:30pm and an evening one around 8:15pm, and some evening versions finish with club entry. The cooking class begins with a guided walk round a market before a chef teaches paella and sangria, then the group sits down to three courses; it suits 8 to 16 people. Book the lunchtime tour early in the weekend, as it is the quickest way to learn where to eat for the rest of the trip.

A food tour walks a set route with stops for tastings, usually four or five places across a couple of hours, with a guide explaining what you are eating and why the city eats it. You will not need dinner afterwards.

A cooking class is the other version: a chef takes the group through a menu in a kitchen, everyone cooks, then you all sit down and eat what you made with a drink.

Send dietary requirements ahead, because both formats are built on a fixed menu. Comfortable shoes for the tour; closed-toe shoes for the kitchen.

  2. Day 2

Beach & pool party in Barcelona

    Add-on

    Beach & pool party

    From about 13:00 · 2 hours

If the group picks the beach party instead, it fills the afternoon: reserved beds or terrace space, a bar and a DJ into the evening. Swim shorts, sun cream and something smarter to change into for after dark.

    More about this

Barcelona's beach club season runs from about mid-April to mid-October, daily in July and August with other dates on request. The pool party format starts at 4:30pm sharp and runs around five hours into the evening; the daytime alternative is a reserved lounger from 11am to 4pm with pool access, showers and a couple of drinks. The venue is confirmed after booking. For something more active, a coordinator runs two hours of beach games such as volleyball and frisbee on the city beach, with starts from 10am. Everything is 18-plus. Pack swimwear, sun cream and something to change into for the evening.

You are given a set of beds or a section of the terrace for the day, with waiter service and a DJ playing from the afternoon into the evening. Some clubs include a drinks package or a bottle on the table, and some only include the entry and the beds.

It is a long, slow afternoon rather than an event with a start and a finish, which suits a group that wants somewhere to be rather than something to do.

Bring swim shorts, sun cream and a towel if the club does not supply one. Most have a dress code after dark, so pack something to change into.

  3. Day 3

Club entry, VIP & booths in Barcelona

    Club entry, VIP & booths

    From about 23:30 · 2 hours

Reserved entry to a beachfront club, past the queue on the guest list. The clubs fill from about one in the morning. Dress codes are enforced hard on stag groups: no sportswear and no matching shirts.

    More about this

Barcelona's club entry is sold as prepaid entry with a drink included, so there is nothing more to pay at the door. The dress code is the thing to plan around: smart casual, with no sportswear, beachwear, trainers or flip-flops, which rules out what most of the group will have worn all day. Pack proper shoes. ID is checked on everyone, as entry is 18-plus. Clubs here fill late, typically from about 1am, so there is no need to rush dinner, and the biggest venues are along the beachfront.

Standard entry gets the group past the queue on a guest list, which matters because large male groups are the first ones a door turns away. A booth adds a reserved table, a set number of bottles with mixers and a host who looks after the table.

Booths are sold on a minimum spend rather than a flat fee at many clubs, so the bottles you order count towards it. Ask what the minimum is and what it includes before you agree to anything.

Dress code is enforced hard on stag groups. No sportswear, no trainers at some doors, no matching shirts, and nobody visibly drunk gets in regardless of the booking.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Is Barcelona good for a first-time stag organiser?

Yes. The package handles the planning — accommodation, activities and the nights out — so an organiser without stag experience isn't working it out from scratch.

Can we add extra nights in Barcelona?

Tell us what the group has in mind when you enquire and we'll say what's possible for that city and those dates.

What's not included in the Barcelona price?

Whatever isn't listed under a trip's "what's included" — flights, extra drinks, transport beyond what's stated and personal spending are on the group.
