It runs two to three hours and it is far more tiring than it looks. Expect to be wet, either from the games or from the weather.
Old sportswear and trainers. Bring a towel and a full change of clothes, and leave phones and watches with the bags.

Local tips
Cardiff's inflatable games day has a Welsh theme: rugby runs, a bucking sheep, dragon-suit races and a celebrity knockout, eight or nine games in all. It is held on a farm about 22 miles from the centre, transfers are not included, and it runs March to October only. Arrival is 10.30am or 1pm, and the session takes two to three hours. Socks and trainers are compulsory for the inflatables, and old clothes or fancy dress both work. Groups of 18 or more are split for some games to cut waiting.

Edinburgh's It's a Knockout runs about three hours on Saturdays only, outdoors and weather dependent, with giant inflatables, races, comic costumes and a T-shirt for everyone. The inflatable games format includes foam, gunge and water, so bring a full change of clothes and something to put wet kit in. Groups of eight or more are the norm. If the weather turns, a 90-minute indoor task challenge with its own host, in a private venue in town, is the fallback.
Local tips
The full inflatable knockout runs outdoors for two to three hours and is a spring-to-autumn booking, because it depends on the weather; there is even a version with a Geordie twist. Groups need at least eight, and sportswear and trainers are the dress code. Outside that season, switch to the Squid Game-style challenge: 90 minutes of playground games at a venue about five minutes' walk from Central Station. That one also works as a lower-effort Sunday option for a group that went hard on the Saturday night.
