The big Algarve water parks are about 30 minutes' drive from central Albufeira, open from about 10am to 6pm. The main season runs May to September, and one park stays open April to October. Expect slides, wave pools, a watercoaster, sunbeds and bars, and plan to stay all day. Transfers are usually not included, so book a minibus there and back. Bring sun cream, swimwear and a towel.
