Entry is for a fixed slot, usually around forty minutes, because of the temperature. You are given a thermal cape and gloves at the door, and the bar, the seats and the glasses are all carved ice. A drink or two is normally included in the entry.
It is a stop rather than a night, and it works as the thing you do before moving on somewhere warm.
Wear proper clothes underneath the cape. The cape covers your top half and nothing else, so shorts are a mistake.

Barcelona's ice bar runs 45-minute sessions, starting every 45 minutes from about 3pm to 9pm, with warm jackets, gloves and boots handed out at the door and a cocktail each served in an ice glass. Inside it sits at around minus five. Packages that add club entry later in the night are common, and those carry the club's dress code: smart casual, with no sportswear, beachwear, trainers or flip-flops. ID is needed for everyone. In summer it is a genuinely useful way to cool off between the beach and dinner, but go once the group has changed for the evening.

Prague's ice bar is one floor of a large multi-level club beside Charles Bridge, so it is usually sold as a combined ticket: a welcome drink in the ice room, then entry to the club floors in the same building. Slots typically run from about 10pm, with a guide meeting the group at the bridge and staying for the first hour. Thermal jackets and gloves are provided. It is an 18-plus venue and ID is checked at the door. Treat it as the last stop after dinner rather than a stand-alone activity, and dress for the club, not the ice.
